A bittersweet moment is on the horizon as the Children’s Museum of the Arts (CMA) said goodbye to its beloved home on 182 Lafayette Street. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at its newest space on September 27th at 103 Charlton Street in Hudson Square, New York.
Base Design has been responsible for the creation and design of the CMA’s brand identity, as well as the development of their signage in collaboration with the awarded firm WORK Architecture Company. Nearly a year after becoming involved with this project, Base is overjoyed to see the work come to life.
Congratulations to Dave, Lucy and all at CMA for a job well done (in record time)!
In his speech, the director of CMA, Dave Kaplan gave shout out’s to all who helped to make the museum possible…
… many of whom were outlined on the donor wall we designed!
Arno Baudin (Senior designer at Base) and Sam Dufaux (Architect at Work Architecture Company).
We assigned each room at the museum its own color. To let the artwork itself shine, Base developed white signage, with the color on the side of the letters matching that of the room.
