Vava Ribeiro, a good friend of Base, has launched a new photoblog.

Vava was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro where he attended school for drawing and painting in the early 90’s, however he left Brazil on an adventure to find good surf. He later moved to New York where he studied photography. Ribeiro is known best for his contemporary photography work in the fashion industry as well as his portraits which has lead him to much acclaim and success. The year 2000 was amazing to Ribeiro. In April he was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Festival Des Arts de la Mode in Hyeres, France and was later named by PDN magazine as one of the 30 best photographers of his generation. His international renown led him to exhibitions in Brazil, France, Japan and the Netherlands. Ribeiro also contributes to Dazed & Confused, Purple, Vogue and the New York Times Magazine.
