Moscow’s Pushkin Museum has hosted L’Art Comme Univers, an exhibition on French fashion house Chanel and, specifically, its driving force, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. A key player in the avant-garde milieu of 1920s and ’30s Paris, and a personal friend of Picasso, DalÃ, Jean Cocteau, and Eric Satie, Coco created work that reached beyond fashion and eventually landed her on Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of the 20th Century.
The exhibition featured original designs and clothing samples, as well as related works from a variety of 20th Century artists, including Man Ray, Nan Goldin and Thomas Struth. Chanel asked us to design the luxurious, 300-page limited-edition exhibition catalog, as well as the communications materials and signage for the exhibition.
